How to climb the Ladder
• To play the game, player must begin at zero (0), and choose a Ladder Step greater than or equal to his or her Current Step to rise or move up one level on the ladder.
• If player chooses a lower value Ladder Step than his or her Current Step, player may choose to either: fall back to the bottom of the ladder and start over, or use a Safe Step to move up to the next step.
• If player chooses a lower value Ladder Step than his or her Current Step with no Safe Steps remaining, player will fall to the bottom of the ladder and start over.
• If all Ladder Steps are used up and player still has Safe Steps remaining, player will move one level up on the ladder for each Safe Step not used.
• The game is officially over when all Ladder Steps and Safe Steps are used up.
• Player wins the value of his or her Current Step once the game is over.
• If player finishes at the top of the steps, player has completed a Climb.

Current Steps
Each level on the ladder is called a Current Step, which is the current position of a player at any given point in the game.

Ladder Steps
There are 16 blocks next to the ladder, which are randomly arranged faced down or hidden, containing the same coin values as the levels on the ladder except for zero (0). The blocks are called Ladder Steps.

Safe Steps
A Safe Step is a tool or life that a player may use to save the player from falling back to the bottom of the ladder after the player has chosen a lower step. Players may also use a Safe Step to move up one level on the ladder at will. Extra Safe Steps may be gained during games via Ladder Step streaks or Equal Steps. Single player games can produce a maximum of 25, and two-player games can produce a maximum of 13 extra Safe Steps for each player.

Streaks
Players are able to earn extra Safe Steps during games for consecutive Ladder Steps won. Player can produce a maximum of 9 extra Safe Steps based on streak.

Equal Steps
An Equal Step happens when a player opens a Ladder Step block with the exact value of his or her Current Step. Players will earn extra Safe Steps during games for Equal Steps posted.

Safe Step Bonus
Players are able to earn bonus coins for each Safe Step not used after a completed Climb. If player completes a Climb with Safe Steps remaining, player will receive the bonus coins for each Safe Step not used. If player completes a Climb with no Safe Steps used, then player has completed a Perfect Game, in which player will receive the maximum allowed bonus coins.

Rounds
If a player completes a Climb and earns at least 2 Safe Step bonuses in the same Climb, player has unlocked the next round, and player will automatically receive the bonus coins for the completed round. For example: if player completes round 2, player will earn the bonus coins assigned to round 2 and automatically unlock round 3. For example: If the bonus coins = 256 per round, then round 5 bonus = 256x5 = 1,280 bonus coins. Currently, there is no limit to the amount of rounds available.

Matchups
Players are able to create matchups in which the player who created the matchup will be Player 1, and the second will be Player 2. Players may also compete against the computer as a single-player computer matchup. The computer AI player will be always be Player 2 in the computer matchups. Players are not allowed to exit a matchup once the matchup has begun. If the Player 1 creator of a player matchup is not able to find any recruits to join, the creator may convert the matchup into a computer matchup instead. Players are able to go head to head with other players in which both players must use one (1) set of Ladder Steps. Players must also divide the Safe Steps receiving one (1) each. The player with the higher step or more coins at the end wins the matchup. If there's a tie after all steps have been used, the game will end in a draw. Player matchups will also be used for tournaments.

Matchup Jackpot
There is a jackpot in the matchup system that calculates all the coins earned by the computer AI player. A human player will receive the jackpot bonus if player earns a climb during a computer matchup win. The bonus will be the updated amount of the computer coin balance.

Targets
Players are able to attempt to finish a game with the final step landing on a predetermined target step to receive the bonus coins. The computer will generate a random target for any step from the bottom half of the ladder.
